INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER, Valley Yellow Pages, Fresno, CA June 2004 - Present

Promoted to further develop the integration of technology into all aspects of the company infrastructure in a sales-led organization of 800 employees with over 18 different locations throughout California. Expand and develop programming teams, technical support teams and website development. Position includes responsibility for the design, implementation and support for both hardware and software systems across the company, including:

- Two data centers running 24/7 with 60 Servers (including VM’s) – Linux, AIX and Windows.
- 450 Laptops and 350 PC’s, both deployment, repair and all Helpdesk Operations.
- Telephony, including VoIP between all offices and Least Cost Routing.
- SEO development and direction on website design and new internet products.
- Support of Multiple databases, including SQL and InterSystems Caché.
- Savings of over 5% of labor costs though automation of processes.

Major projects:

- Migrated production system from Caché 2.1.4 through to current version.
- Designed and developed of a paperless proofing system running on Laserfiché and Caché
- Development of Caché-based sale reporting engine for all levels of sales management.
- Migrated legacy systems to cost effective web based technologies.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST/PROGRAMMER Valley Yellow Pages, Fresno, CA February 2000 – June 2004

- Responsible for the support of the mission critical software, including assigning responsibilities for data management to departments, analyzing user needs for external vendors and internal programmers.
- Extensive programming of in-house systems using Caché programming language.
- Programming of advanced sales management tools in Mumps.
- Project manager for migration of financial data and A/R systems to current Caché platform.
- Training of 300+ users in use of computers and customized software.
- Setting up and testing of QA systems for data migration.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, Raptor Computers Ltd., Cheltenham, UK 1997 – 1999

- Responsible for all technical, QA, production and engineering aspects of a computer manufacturer (OEM).
- Recruited, trained and supervised an 8-person IT production/installation/support team.
- Maintained all scheduling for an engineering department and increased the production capacity to 75 customized PC’s per week.
- Instigated QA procedures for production and supervised QA checking of sales orders against client requirements.
- Project management for accounts valued in excess of $35k per client.
- Scheduled and provided technical support to large corporate clients.
- Developed procedures for call out logging and accounting. Supervised and developed administrative procedures for 11-person customer service team supporting a client base of 200+.
- Developed administrative procedures for Purchasing Department. Conducted one-day to six-week PC instruction workshops for private individuals and corporate clients of all sizes.
- Maintained up-to-date instruction of the 10-person Sales Department in the technical aspects of network design.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULER, Diskxpress, Borton-on-the-Water, UK 1994 – 1997

- Began as Fulfillment Supervisor where I supervised a shift of 25 production staff in the packing of CD’s, the duplicating and packing of floppy disks, and the transfer of materials from the warehouse to fulfillment divisions.
- Promoted to Inventory Control to develop, implement and instruct users in a computerized warehouse and stock system (MS Access).
- Promoted to Print Preparation Supervisor overseeing materials production and print scheduling of 2 million CD’s a month.
- Finally moved to the position of Production Scheduler, working with the general manager to schedule CRP for all aspects of the plant. Learned transport and logistics distribution to be able to run the transport department in the transport manager’s absence. Assisted in the implementation of MRP II production control systems.
