Attended and graduated high school at Republican City, Nebraska. After
graduation, she attended Grand Island School of Business.

In 1983, Kyla bought Gala Gardens Manor, a health care center. It was a licensed
Domiciliary with 18 residents, a room and board for the elderly, very restricted
in the services that it could provide to its residents.
Ms. Starbrant found her niche in caring for people, more so in the mentally challenged,
than in the elderly. Slowly she began to build her clientele toward this area.
Ms. Starbrant has successfully upgraded the facility through three licence
upgrades. Presently the facility is an Assisted living facility. Two additions have
been made to the facility, including a community room, three units, and a new
laundry facility. Today the facility offers a broad spread of health care sevices
for its clients, including in house, and outside services. Services include
but are not limited to, full room and board, 24 hour a day supervision, all medication
passes, activites related to the individual's based needs, social services, laundry,
housekeeping and transportation services.
Gala Gardens's Manor's capacity maximum resident count is 41 and retains a 99
percent occupancy. It is one of the larger employers in the rural
county where it resides.
