- Born in 1948.
- Graduated New York University - University Heights in 1969
- Received ordination and Masters of Hebrew Literature from the Hebrew Union College in 1974.
- Married Judy Mirrer in 1969.
- Rabbi Moss has served the B'nai Israel Reform Temple in Oakdale since 1972.
- He is currently the Chairperson of the Suffolk County Human Rights Commission, the Suffolk County Clergy Anti-Bias Task Force, and the Islip Town Anti-Bias Task Force.
- He also serves the Suffolk County Executive as a Special Assistant for Bias Related Matters.
- Rabbi Moss is a chaplain to the Suffolk County Police Department, Troop L of the New York State Police.
- Since 1971 he has served as a chaplain to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Hospital
- Cornell Medical Center.
He is also a chaplaincy supervisor for the New York Board of Rabbis.
- He is the Founder and Director of STOPBIAS, Suffolk County's only educational program for bias crimes offenders.
- He is a student of the Kabbalah and has led workshops on Jewish mysticism and meditation.
He has written on this subject and has done counselling using the principles of Kabbalah.
He is the founder of the Kabbalah Net.
- His hobbies include exercise and stamp collecting.
- He is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Ministry Program for Pastoral Psychotherapy at the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion and Post-Graduate Center for Mental Health in New York
